PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle lighting device improved in visibility around the periphery of a vehicle, and a burglarproof effect when a person gets into or gets out of a vehicle by using an existing sensor mounted to the vehicle to detect a position of a person present in the vicinity of the vehicle, and an illuminating lamp for illuminating the vicinity of the vehicle. SOLUTION: Door sensors and external sensors mounted to the vehicle detect a person, while a position-estimating section 281 estimates a position to which a person is supposed to move, based on detection signals outputted from the sensors, and then a lighting command section 283 outputs a lighting command to an illumination corresponding to the position of the detected person.
