PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile telephone equipped with a function for measuring a body activity amount which can automatically measure an amount of body activity of the user. SOLUTION: An acceleration detecting unit 12 consists of a semiconductor acceleration sensor so configured as to detect accelerations in three axis (X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis) directions on a three-dimensional rectangular coordinate system, and outputs a detected value of acceleration in each axis direction to a controlling unit 13. The controlling unit 13 time-averages changes in detected values of acceleration fetched from the acceleration detecting unit 12 at predetermined sampling times, and calculates the body activity intensity from the time-averaged value and then calculates an amount of body activity by performing time integration of the body activity intensity.
