The invention relates to a method for operating a vacuum toilet (1), in particular in a vehicle, such as a rail vehicle or aircraft, wherein an occupied signal is activated after entry and locking of the access door (14). After the toilet (1) has been used, a flushing process (20) with water is performed by pressing a flushing button (17), while the vacuum suctioning (8) is simultaneously activated. Then a filling process of the vacuum toilet (1) for replenishing the water (11) for the flushing is performed. After a filling process of the vacuum toilet (1), a check for clogging (22) is performed and, after clogging (22) has been detected, an automatic flushing process, a self-healing process (35), is activated. The access door (14) to the vacuum toilet (1) is locked and the occupied signal is activated. In succession, at least one preprogrammed or presettable flushing process (20) with water (11) and one presettable flushing process (23) without water are performed. Thereafter, a presettable wait time (25) is started and then a new check for clogging (22) is performed by means of at least one flushing process (20, 23). |
