PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor and a hard disk drive including the same.

SOLUTION: The spindle motor may include: a shaft; a sleeve supporting the shaft by fluid dynamic pressure so as to allow relative rotation; a holder provided outwardly of the sleeve and at least partially formed of a magnetic material; a stator core mounted on an outer surface of the holder; and a base member which includes a mounting part protruding upwardly in an axial direction and fixed to the holder.
