摘要 Disclosed herein are catalyst compositions and polymers, i.e., propylene-based polymers, produced therefrom. The present catalyst compositions include an internal electron donor with an alkoxypropyl ester. The present catalyst compositions improve catalyst selectivity. Propylene-based polymer produced from the present catalyst composition has a melt flow rate greater than 4 g/10 min.

A process of forming a procatalyst composition comprising: contacting a procatalyst precursor with a halogenating agent in the presence of an alkoxypropyl ester wherein the alkoxypropyl ester has the structure (I) wherein R, R1, R2, R3, and R4 are the same or different, R is selected from the group consisting of an unsubstituted aliphatic C3-C20 secondary alkyl group, a substituted aliphatic C3-C20 secondary alkyl group, an unsubstituted C2-C20 alkenyl group, and a substituted C2-C20 alkenyl group; R1 is selected from the group consisting of an unsubstituted C1-C20 primary alkyl group, a substituted C1-C20 primary alkyl group, and a C2-C20 alkenyl group; each of R2-R4 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, a C1-C20 primary alkyl group, a substituted C1-C20 primary alkyl group, a C2-C20 alkenyl group, and combinations thereof; the procatalyst precursor comprising a benzoate-containing magnesium chloride; and forming a procatalyst composition comprising a magnesium moiety, a titanium moiety, and an internal electron donor comprising the alkoxypropyl ester.
