A load control device comprising a wireless communications interface, a switch element, and a control unit. The control unit is configured so as to: execute a control command from a wireless signal sent from a communications device via the wireless communications interface; and turn the switch element ON and OFF in accordance with the control command. In addition, the control unit is configured such that, if a wireless signal including a control command is received, a wireless signal including a confirmation response message is returned to the communications device both when which a prescribed first time has passed since reception of the wireless signal has been completed and when a second time having a different length than the first time has passed since said reception-completed time.
