This method for generating a three-dimensional light-emitting image includes: acquiring (S103) a set of two-dimensional light-emitting images regarding a plurality of focusing surfaces that are mutually different under non-illumination conditions, in relation to a three-dimensional sample having a three-dimensional shape including a plurality of cells prepared so as to emit light under non-illumination conditions; and generating (S105) a three-dimensional light-emitting image by compositing the set of two-dimensional light-emitting images.
