The invention relates to methods for distributing a data stream in a value document handling apparatus from at least one sensor to at least one processing unit, and to a system for distributing sensor data. The value document handling apparatus has a distribution device and at least one processing unit. The distribution device comprises at least two data interfaces. The method involves a sensor data packet being produced (S3). The sensor data packet comprises the sensor data and a destination address. The destination address describes a physical memory address of the at least one processing unit. In addition, the sensor data packet is sent to one of the data interfaces of the distribution device (S4). The distribution device receives (S5) the sensor data packet on a further data interface. In one step, the sensor data packet is forwarded (S7.1–7.3) to the at least one processing unit by the distribution device. To this end, the distribution device ascertains forwarding parameters in accordance with the destination address (S6), wherein the destination address of the sensor data packet and forwarding parameters are taken as a basis for selecting the further data interface for outputting the sensor data packet to the at least one processing unit. The at least one processing unit receives the sensor data packet. In addition, the sensor data are stored (S9) at the memory address of the at least one processing unit, as provided by the destination address. |
