PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pumping system capable of solving a problem of various irregular pulsations due to changes in flow rate and pressure which are caused from changes in specific gravity of slurry which flows in a lifting tube and causes wear and corrosion on an underwater pump for safety operation maintenance and management of a metal lifting system.SOLUTION: The pumping system includes: a lifting tube communicating work ship on the sea and a target seabed; a vent pipe connected to the work ship; and an underwater pump connected to the lifting tube. The lower end of the vent pipe is directly connected to the lifting tube, and the upper end of the vent pipe communicates with atmospheric air on the sea. The vent pipe has a free water surface and an underwater tank is provided in the vicinity of the vent pipe.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
