The present invention relates to crosstalk estimation within a wired communication system. In accordance with an embodiment of the invention, a transceiver (110i; 210i) for coupling to a transmission line (Li) is configured, during the reception of a crosstalk probing signal, to measure an error vector (331; 332) between a received frequency sample (311; 312) of the crosstalk probing signal and a selected constellation point (321; 322) onto which the received frequency sample is demapped, and to report error information E i l k indicative of the measured error vector to a vectoring controller (130) for crosstalk estimation. The transceiver is further configured to report demapping information I i l k indicative of the selected constellation point onto which the received frequency sample is demapped to the vectoring controller. The present invention also relates to a vectoring controller for estimating a crosstalk coefficient towards a transmission line, to a method for measuring crosstalk over a transmission line, and to a method for estimating a crosstalk coefficient towards a transmission line. |
