LINE FILTER, SWITCHING POWER SUPPLY MOUNTING LINE FILTER, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: A line filter, a switching power supply mounted with a line filter and an imaging device are provided to reduce the power consumption regarding a discharge resistance discharging a charge accumulated in an X capacitor connected between the output lines of a power plug. CONSTITUTION: A power plug(1) is inserted in or removed from a prevailing AC power source. A rectifying unit(3) rectifies an input AC voltage. A third capacitor(4) is positioned between the power plug and the rectifying unit and connected between lines. A fourth capacitor(5) is positioned on the position just behind the rectifying unit and connected between the rectifying output lines of the rectifying unit. A transformer(7) converts and outputs the voltage input by a first smooth capacitor(6). A heat sink unit(9) releases the heat generated during the operation of a switching unit(8). A rectifying diode(10) rectifies the output voltage of the transformer.
