LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of suppressing a phenomenon (a pale color phenomenon) wherein gradation display and color tone display are changed when a screen is viewed from the front and when viewed from an oblique direction and further enhancing display performance, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is constituted so that a polyimide film 117 is formed only at edges of pixels divided by gate bus lines 11 and data bus lines 113 and a threshold of a transmittance (T)-voltage (V) characteristic in the region where the polyimide film 117 is formed is made higher than that in the region where the polyimide film 117 is not formed. The pale color phenomenon can be suppressed by thus providing a plurality of regions having the T-V characteristic different from each other in one pixel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
