PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaporator having improved heat exchanging efficiency by distributing the liquid phase and the gas phase of refrigerant to each tube on an almost equal basis while reducing manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: A refrigerant hole 14 provided in an inner pipe portion 12 consists of liquid phase refrigerant delivery hole 14b, 14c for delivering liquid phase refrigerant R from the refrigerant and a gas phase refrigerant delivery hole 14a for delivering gas phase refrigerant from the refrigerant. The liquid phase refrigerant delivery hole 14a is made in the peripherally lower position of the inner pipe portion 12, corresponding to a position between the tubes 2 in an axial direction L1. The gas phase refrigerant delivery holes 14b, 14c are made in the peripherally upper positions of the inner pipe portion 12, corresponding to the positions of the tubes 2 in the axial direction L1.
