<p>The device has an optical path which runs from a picture plane (E1) to a picture plane (E2). A controllable optical filter (10) e.g. light modulator is arranged in a plane (E3) which is conjugate to the plane (E1) in the optical path, where a selective section is partially shaded in the conjugated plane. A control device (4) controls the optical filter so that the artifact in the picture formed in the plane (E2) is filtered. An independent claim is also included for a method for projecting a picture.</p>
