PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To turn on power again with a simple structure even after loading the power supply once. SOLUTION: A motion circuit unit 21 for performing the main operation of a capsule endoscope 10 and a starting circuit unit 22 to be used for starting the operation of the motion circuit unit 21 are disposed inside a capsule shell 11. The starting circuit unit 22 operates when the operation of the motion circuit unit 21 is stopped. The starting circuit unit 22 has a photosensor 41. When the photosensor 41 detects the quantity of light of a second threshold or larger, the operation of the motion circuit unit 21 is started. The motion circuit unit 21 has an imaging device 33 for acquiring image signals. The quantity of light is detected based on the image signals generated by the imaging device 33. When the detected quantity of light is a first threshold or larger, the operation of the motion circuit unit 21 is stopped, and the starting circuit unit 21 is operated again.
