摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnification projection optical system suitable for a microscope or the like, whose constitution is comparatively simple, which is easily designed and which can widely secure periphery of a sample. SOLUTION: A projection optical device enlarges and projects an image of an object to be observed by arranging a pair of concave mirrors M1 and M2 at a predetermined interval so that their concave surfaces may be opposed to each other, arranging the object to be observed at a predetermined position on an optical axis O piercing through sphere centers of the concave mirrors between the concave mirrors, and reciprocatively reflecting light diverged from the object to be observed between the concave mirrors. The projection optical device is equipped with adjusting means 2 and 3 capable of deciding positions of the pair of concave mirrors and the object to be observed with predetermined optical accuracy.
