PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a translucency sensitive electronic diaphragm shutter device having a high shutter time, capable of acquiring a clear image when photographing the quickly moving image, and a control method therefor. SOLUTION: The translucency sensitive electronic diaphragm shutter device includes a control unit and a diaphragm shutter unit. The diaphragm shutter unit includes the first translucency sensitive electronic element and the second translucency sensitive electronic element disposed layeredly and opposedly, and the shutter time is determined by transmitting an electric signal from the control unit, by controlling independently the first translucency sensitive electronic element and the second translucency sensitive electronic element, by conducting a conversion between a translucent state and an opaque state, and by controlling a time difference between the state conversions of the first translucency sensitive electronic element and the second translucency sensitive electronic element.
