IMAGE PROJECTION APPARATUS, AND IMAGE PROJECTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projection apparatus capable of performing shape correction with stability without interrupting appreciation of images even when the shape of a projection surface or position relation between the projection surface and a projector is changed or even when an image in a moving image drastically changes with time.

SOLUTION: An image projection apparatus has: an imaging part imaging a projection target image which is an original image or a corrected image projected to a projection surface; a shape model holding part 303 holding a shape model; a model selector 306 selecting a projection surface shape model from a correspondence relation between a first feature point on the projection target image and a second feature point on an imaged image; a parameter calculator 307 approximating the shape of the projection shape model to a shape of the projection surface and repeatedly calculating a model parameter indicating a positional relation with the projection surface from the correspondence relation between the first and second feature points; a correction part correcting the original image to the corrected image; and a projection part projecting the projection target image to the projection surface.
