<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable water proof between lines in a grommet without using a liquid waterproofing agent. <P>SOLUTION: A waterproofing method of the grommet 10 attached on a wire harness W/H piercing through a through-hole of a body panel from a water penetration region to a cabin is characterized in that a spacer-cum-waterproof material 12 (-cum-waterproof material 15) in which a thermosetting resin powder is pressed and hardened and protruding pieces 12b protrude radially is provided in advance, the spacer-cum-waterproof material 12 (-cum-waterproof material 15) is attached in electric wires W when the electric wires W are put together to form a wire harness W/H, the center portion of the spacer-cum-waterproof material 12 (-cum-waterproof material 15) is positioned on the center portion of the electric wires W and the protruding pieces 12b protrude while pushing and widening the gap of the electric wires W, the grommet 10 is externally attached on the wire harness W/H on a region where the spacer-cum-waterproof material 12 (-cum-waterproof material 15) is attached, and then, heat is applied at the temperature for melting the thermosetting resin power to allow the water-proof material 15 to permeate the gap of the electric wires W penetrating through the grommet 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
