COMPRESSOR AND AIR-CONDITIONER HAVING THE SAME

A compressor and an air-conditioner having the same are disclosed. Operationally, a compressor application voltage is detected, and the air-conditioner is operated in a pre-set operation mode according to the detection result, or the air-conditioner is operated in a pre-set operation mode for a set time period and continuously operates compressor (10). Accordingly, the compressor can be operated in a particular operational mode within a certain time slot regardless of ambient temperature, whereby an excessive cooling operation is not performed at night thus providing an agreeable cooling operation with reduced noise. The compressor (10) is prevented from being stopped due to low voltage, and because the power to compressor (10) is not repeatedly turned on and off, power consumption can be reduced and reliability can be improved.
