Controlling corrosion in an umbilical 190 through providing a Low Density Hydrate Inhibitor (LDHI) stream containing water, determining if the water content exceeds a first predetermined threshold and if so drying the LDHI stream and injecting the dried LDHI stream into the umbilical 190. The LDHI may be filtered before the injection step and water content may further be monitored after the drying step and may be compared to a second predetermined threshold. The first predetermined threshold may be 0.9 volume % The LDHI may be dried by an external desiccant including clay, silica gels or molecular sieves among others.
