The cross-piece (1) has two sections (2, 4) comprising walls and assembled with other sections in a junction zone (6), where wall thicknesses of the sections are different, the sections are made of different materials, and thickness of the wall of one of the sections is lower than 1.2 mm. Each section comprises an extreme fixing part (16) extending along the junction zone. The wall of the section is fixed on the wall of the other section by a weld (32) formed by induction brazing. The fixing part is fixed on a fixing part of the latter section. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a cross-piece of an instrument panel of a vehicle. |
