The present invention relates to a process of filling an intragastric balloon placed into the stomach of a patient for the treatment of overweight or obesity. The method consists of filling the intragastric balloon with air or saline combined with a fragrance marker. Preferably, the balloon inflates with saline and gas, usually air, and afterwards the fragrance marker is given to the balloon. Then at 400-700 ml of saline 50-150 cm3 of air at atmospheric pressure is introduced into the balloon. Fragrance marker is chosen such that it is soluble in physiological saline. The best markers used are peppermint flavor with density at 20° C of 0,943-1,003 g / cm3 or eucalyptus-mint flavor with density at 20° C of 0,821 g / cm3 in the amount of 2-5 cm3. |
