In the present invention, a coated tool is provided with the following: a first surface; a second surface that is adjacent to the first surface; a cutting blade that is positioned at at least one part of a ridge between the first surface and the second surface; a substrate (5); and a coating layer (6) positioned above the substrate. The coating layer is provided with a titanium carbonitride layer (8) and an aluminum oxide layer (10) having an α type crystal structure. The titanium carbonitride layer (8) is positioned closer to the substrate (5) than the aluminum oxide layer (10) is, and when a value represented by a formula is taken to be the texture coefficient Tc(hkl) on the basis of a peak of the aluminum oxide layer analyzed by means of X-Ray diffraction analysis, the ratio (Tcf(104) / Tcf(012)) of the texture coefficients Tcf(104) and Tcf(012) for the coating layer on the second surface, which is a flank face, is higher than the ratio (Tcr(104) / Tcr(012)) of the texture coefficients Tcr(104) and Tcr(012) for the coating layer on the first surface, which is a rake face. |
