<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reconcilably ensure battery life and vehicle power performance. <P>SOLUTION: In a vehicle having a lithium ion battery, an ECU calculates a battery degradation evaluation value D in accordance with a change in differences in lithium ion concentration, and if a restrictive condition that the battery degradation evaluation value D exceeds a desired value E is satisfied, lowers a battery discharge power upper limit value WOUT. The ECU integrates the battery degradation evaluation value D for a recent predetermined period into a battery degradation integral value ΣD, and variably controls the desired value E in accordance with the battery degradation integral value ΣD. The ECU sets the desired value E at a maximum value Emax larger than a reference value Ebase by a predetermined value α while the battery degradation integral value ΣD is smaller than an allowable value, and gradually lowers the desired value E from the maximum value Emax to the reference value Ebase in accordance with the battery degradation integral value ΣD while the battery degradation integral value ΣD exceeds the allowable value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
