PURPOSE: A timing belt cover structure is provided to achieve an improved workability and reduce cost by eliminating the use of adhesive. CONSTITUTION: A timing belt cover(10) for covering a cam shaft, a crankshaft sprocket, and a timing belt, has a groove(16) formed at an outer periphery of the belt cover. The groove has at both inner side surfaces thereof a plurality of protrusions arranged in zigzag with a predetermined spacing. A gasket(14) to be inserted into the groove of the timing belt cover is made of a material selected from CR foam rubber or pure NBR rubber. When the gasket made of CR foam rubber is inserted into the groove of the timing belt cover, the thickness of the protrusion formed at the groove is 0.5mm and the spacing between each of the protrusions is 50mm. When the gasket made of NBR rubber is inserted into the groove, the thickness of the protrusion is 0.3mm and the spacing between each of the protrusions is 50mm. The thickness of the protrusion is different because the gasket made of NBR has higher hardness than the gasket made of CR foam rubber, and a portion of the gasket made of NBR rubber is protruded when inserted into the groove.
