A process is described for preparing aromatic vinyl compounds of general formula (I) Ar &lsqbstr& CH=CH2Ün which is characterised in that an aromatic acetylene compound of general formula (II) Ar &lsqbstr& C IDENTICAL CHÜn is selectively hydrogenated at the triple bond on a noble metal catalyst. This process permits ease of access to functional aromatic vinyl compounds. It makes it possible to prepare technically pure products without expensive process measures. |
