The coupling has an actuator (6) for manufacturing and releasing a torque-proof connection between coupling surfaces formed at gear wheels (1, 3). The actuator has a body whose geometrical dimensions are changeable by influencing an electrical or magnetic field. The gear wheels have the coupling surfaces that lie coaxial to a rotation axis (9) of the gear wheels, where the body is arranged tangential to the coupling surfaces and is extended during influencing of the field. The body is made of a piezoelectric material.
