The method involves supplying air containing oxygen to a combustion process. The air containing oxygen is heated before entering into a combustion chamber in such a manner that a part of the heat developed during ignition is transmitted to the inflowing combustion air over a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger extends into the combustion chamber and a peltier unit. Another heat exchanger extends into the fresh air chamber. Heat normally escaping from the combustion exhaust gases is recovered to generate a current at low temperature level. An independent claim is also included for a device for producing heat and current.
