A drive acts with a force (F) on the mechanism through a scissors transfer (44) with two legs (46) in a pair to swing against each other, coupled to the lifting scissors. The force/travel characteristic of the lifting scissors legs (20), on raising and lowering of the lifting frame, is inverse to the force/travel characteristic of the force transfer leg.
