A method, apparatus and system for using partial bandwidth in a multi-carrier transmission system. The method comprises: dividing the sub-band into a defined number of continuous sub-frequency bands; selecting a sub-frequency band to be used in the defined number of sub-frequency band and inserting the pilot sequence into the selected sub-frequency band, and sending the pilot sequence and data only over the sub-frequency band inserted the pilot sequence. The system comprises: a sending unit and a receiving unit. Wherein, the sending unit divides the sub-band into a defined number of continuous sub-frequency bands, selects a sub-frequency band to be used in the defined number of sub-frequency band and inserts the pilot sequence into the selected sub-frequency band, and sends the pilot sequence and data only over the sub-frequency band; the receiving unit identifies the pilot sequence received, determines the sub-frequency band that the sending unit selected and used. So the users admitted and not admitted can share the same sub-band in the multi-carrier transmission system, and the disturbance to the admitted users is further reduced. |
