The present invention provides means for treating and preventing amyloid-related pathology in young to middle-aged subjects with Down's syndrome (DS). In particular, the present invention provides antigenic peptide fragments derived from amyloid protein or amyloid-like protein for use in the preventive treatment of amyloid-related pathology in young to middle-aged subjects with Down's syndrome.
