Disclosed are a method for determining a service bandwidth in an IP network and a network device, so as to improve the utilization rate of bandwidth resources of a port in the network device in a subsystem on each layer in the IP network, and satisfy the demand that a same port bears services with different convergence properties. The method comprises: a network device determines a service type of a service requesting a bandwidth resource of a first port, acquires a preset bandwidth convergence ratio corresponding to the service type, and acquires a committed information rate (CIR) bandwidth corresponding to the service type; and the network device determines a CIR bandwidth of the service in the first port according to the bandwidth convergence ratio and the CIR bandwidth, and allocates a reserved bandwidth to the service according to the determined CIR bandwidth of the service in the first port. |
