<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desulfurization apparatus and a fuel cell system, capable of suppressing reduction in the lifetime of a desulfurization catalyst while accelerating the desulfurization reaction. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system 1 includes a reformer 2, a desulfurization apparatus 3 and a fuel cell stack 4. The desulfurization apparatus 3 includes a cylindrical desulfurizer 7 housing a desulfurization catalyst that removes a sulfur content from a liquid fuel, a heater 8 for heating the liquid fuel in the desulfurizer 7, a power supply 9, and a control unit 15. The desulfurizer 7 has an entrance portion A, an exit portion B and a center portion C. The length of Nichrome wires in heater cartridges 8A to 8C corresponding to the entrance portion A, the exit portion B and the center portion C of the desulfurizer 7, respectively, are determined in such a manner that the heat value of the heater cartridge 8B is smaller than the heat value of the heater cartridge 8A and larger than the heat value of the heater cartridge 8C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
