PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improvement in ease of maintenance work of a rope in an elevator provided with a rope suspension end at a lower portion of a cage. SOLUTION: A suspension extension device 10 for the rope is used for extending the rope suspension end 6 provided on a lower side of the cage 2 of the elevator upward to perform the maintenance work of the rope at a roughly height position of an upper portion 5 of the cage 2. Specifically, this is constituted by sequentially connecting the rope suspension end 6, a suspension end rod 12, an extension bar 14, an intermediate rod 16, a turn buckle 18 disposed at a roughly height position of the top portion 5 of the cage 2, a rod 20 for the rope terminal, and a rope terminal processing portion 24 tightly winding the rope 8. An overturning preventing member 60 is provided protruding from the cage 2 to support the suspension extension device 10 at the height position of the turn buckle 18. Attachment/detachment, adjustment of the rope, or the like can be performed by rotating the turn buckle 18 in a direction of a rotational arrow B. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
