PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper package for allowing easy insertion of an insertion portion formed at the front end of a cover portion into a cut portion formed on the surface of a package material when using the paper package, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: When using the paper package 9, the cover portion 44 is turned back to the reverse side. Then, the insertion portion 444 at a cover front end 443 of the cover portion 44 is inserted through a thrust portion 452 of a third slit 45 of a bottom portion 40 into the third slit 45 to fix the cover portion 44 to the bottom portion 40. In this state, the paper package 9 is stored in a paper storage part of a printing device. The third slit 45 has the thrust portion 452 extruded concurrently with punching work for the package material 8, and therefore, the insertion portion 444 can be easily inserted into the third slit 45.
