A liquid crystal display control method and a liquid crystal display. The method comprises: when a liquid crystal display is powered up, activating scanning for an image signal of a liquid crystal display panel and scanning for a dimming signal of a backlight panel, where the phase of the image signal of the liquid crystal display panel is asynchronous to that of the dimming signal of the backlight panel; a relation between A, the scan rate for the backlight dimming signal, and B, the scan rate for the image signal of the liquid crystal display panel satisfies: A > B and A ≠ N*B, where N is an integer greater than 0. This prevents the backlight from exhibiting a phenomenon of flickering relative to screen scanning, thus improving display quality and effects of liquid crystal displays such as a liquid crystal television, allowing a product to be provided with increased price-performance ratio, and increasing the market competitiveness of the product. |
