Disclosed is a method for operating a refrigerator in response to door opening and closing, comprising the steps of: driving, by a controller, an inverter compressor at a first set RPM on the basis of an internal temperature measurement value; sensing, by the controller, opening and closing of the door of the refrigerator through a door opening and closing sensor; when opening of the door is sensed, driving, by the controller, the inverter compressor at a second set RPM higher than the first set RPM; determining, by the controller, whether the internal temperature of the refrigerator is lowered to a target temperature; and when the internal temperature of the refrigerator is lowered to the target temperature, driving, by the controller, the inverter compressor at the first set RPM. Freshness of food can be maintained regardless of whether the door of the refrigerator is opened or closed. |
