The present invention relates to a mobile terminal and a control method thereof, wherein the mobile terminal comprises: a sound output unit; a touch screen for displaying at least one piece of content on a screen; and a control unit for converting the content into sound and allowing the sound output unit to output the converted sound, if input of a first touch having a touch area greater than or equal to a preset size is received on the screen. If a user desires to acoustically listen to content on the screen, the user can listen to the content that could not be seen on a current screen due to personal circumstances of the user by inputting a touch activity of covering the screen by the palm of the user. |
