A terminal apparatus comprising: a receiver which, in operation, receives downlink data on a first component carrier and a second component carrier, wherein the first component carrier and the second component carrier have different frame configuration patterns among a plurality of frame configuration patterns, each frame configuration pattern defining transmission timings of one or more uplink subframes and one or more downlink subframes within a frame; a response signal generator which, in operation, performs error detection of the downlink data received on each of the first component carrier and the second component carrier, and generates a response signal indicating error detection results for the first component carrier and the second component carrier; and a transmitter which, in operation, transmits the response signal for the first component carrier and the second component carrier using specified uplink subframe(s) within the frame only on the first component carrier, wherein subframe(s) other than the specified uplink subframe(s) within the frame are not used for transmitting the response signal for the first component carrier and the second component carrier, the specified uplink subframe(s) having a transmission timing that is defined according to the same periodicity as a periodicity of a switching point from downlink transmission to uplink transmission (DL/UL switching point), the plurality of frame configuration patterns including at least two frame configuration patterns whose periodicity of the DL/UL switching point is different from each other.
