PURPOSE: A wireless link monitoring device in a wireless communication system and a method thereof are provided to accurately monitor a wireless link of a terminal by setting a reference signal which is suitable for monitoring the wireless link on a network according to various scenarios. CONSTITUTION: When an RS(Reference Signal) setting for monitoring a wireless link is detected from a network, a terminal receives the set RS(1001,1002). The terminal measures a link state based on the set RS, wireless link quality is evaluated(1003,1004). When the RS setting is not detected, the terminal measures a CRS(Common Reference Signal) based link state by receiving the CRS(1005,1006).
