Provided are a medical device having excellent wettability and lubricity and reducing a risk of bacterial proliferation and a method for producing a medical device. The medical device of the present invention is a medical device in which a layer made of an acidic polymer and a basic polymer is formed on at least a part of a surface of a base material, in which at least one kind of an acidic polymer and a basic polymer forming the layer made of the acidic polymer or the basic polymer is a multi-component copolymer of three or more components, and at least a kind of the acidic polymer and the basic polymer forming the layer made of the acidic polymer and the basic polymer is a polymer having a group selected from a hydroxy group and an amide group. |
