PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of continuing printing to a recording medium by determining whether to enable continuous printing in the case that the expansion/contraction rate of the recording medium is outside an allowable range.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has an image formation means for forming an image on a recording medium, a heating means for heating the recording medium, a recording medium length measurement means for measuring the carrying distance or the length in a carrying direction of the recording medium, an expansion/contraction rate calculation means for calculating the expansion/contraction rate of the recording medium on the basis of a measurement result of the recording medium length measurement means before and after image formation to one plane of the recording medium by the image formation means, a correction means for correcting image data formed by the image formation means on the basis of the expansion/contraction rate, and a control means for making the recording medium length measurement means measure the carrying distance or the length in the carrying direction of the recording medium after making the heating means heat the recording medium, and making the expansion/contraction rate calculation means recalculate the expansion/contraction rate of the recording medium in the case that the expansion/contraction rate is equal to or greater than an upper limit value of the allowable range. |
