PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a processing load for detecting a specific image region.

SOLUTION: A storage unit 20 stores a plurality of kinds of discriminators as detecting information for detecting a specific image region such as a face. An acquisition unit 41 sequentially acquires image data. A detection unit 43 detects a specific image region such as a face in the image data acquired by the acquisition unit 41 using the plurality of kinds of detecting information stored in the storage unit 20. A discriminator control unit 51 selects specific detecting information from the plurality of kinds of detecting information on the basis of a result of detection by the detection unit 43.
