A device (20) for measuring fluid flow in which the kinetic energy of a moving fluid is translated into a rotating magnetic field in which a measuring element (30) is placed in a first chamber (22) and a magnet (32) being in mechanical communication with the measuring element. A stationary sensor (60) placed within the magnetic field is used to detect the resulting changes in magnetic flus and thereby provide fluid flow measurements.
