A shape memory actuator device, comprising of a shape memory cable (2) assembled through a sheath (3) and susceptible of being supplied with an electric current to cause it to heat up. The sheath (3) is placed in such a way to allow a manual activation of the controlled mechanism, acting as a transmission element, alternatively to the electric activation through the shape memory cable (2). Means (301, 302, 304) are foreseen to detect the stop end position of the shape memory cable (2) following its heating up in order to disconnect the electricity supply to such cable (2) and to protect it from the risk of overheating.
