A system and a method for providing DTVCC(Digital TV Closed Caption) to which hypertext is applied are provided to apply a hypertext function to DTVCC by using an unused bandwidth of DTVCC to provide a new service to a subscriber and provide new advertisement effect to a content provider or an advertiser. A digital broadcasting receiver includes a hypertext processing module. The hypertext processing module analyzes hyper link information transmitted through a hypertext caption service channel when caption data transmitted from a digital broadcasting providing server includes a HCC(Hypertext Control Code) and displays a corresponding search result when a hypertext selection signal is inputted while a hyper link caption window is displayed.
