A method for controlling a hybrid HDD(Hard Disk Drive), a recording medium suitable for the same, and an apparatus suitable for the same are provided to improve reliability by permanently inactivating a non-volatile cache supporting mode when the erase number of a non-volatile cache is over the erase limit number of the non-volatile cache. It is judged whether a non-volatile cache exceeds a use limit on the basis of an erase number for the non-volatile cache(S202-S208). If the non-volatile cache exceeds the use limit, a non-volatile cache supporting mode is permanently inactivated(S210,S212,S214). The erase number of the non-volatile cache is counted. If the erase number is higher than a certain erase limit number, it is judged that the non-volatile cache exceeds the use limit.
