<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust white balance without any dedicated tool. <P>SOLUTION: A spontaneous light emission display device comprises a display panel which has dummy pixels by basic light emission colors arranged outside an effective display area, a dummy pixel data determination section which supplies gray scale values for light emission characteristic detection to the respective dummy pixels by the basic light emission colors when the white balance is automatically adjusted, a luminance detection sensor which detects light emission luminances of the dummy pixels by the basic light emission colors when the white balance is automatically adjusted, a luminance characteristic detection section which detects gamma characteristics relating to the light emission luminances of the dummy pixels by the basic light emission colors based upon the light emission luminances detected by the basic light emission colors, a gamma setting section which updates gamma conversion tables corresponding to the respective basic light emission colors so that the detected gamma characteristics by the basic light emission colors meet proper white balance, and a gamma conversion section which gamma-converts an input video signal by referring to the gamma conversion table. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
