<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable type wind regulator which can be easily attached to a door panel, a drive unit for use therein, and a carrier plate. <P>SOLUTION: The wind regulator 10 fitted to the door panel P of a door D comprises four pulleys 11, an inner cable 12 cabled by the pulleys, carrier plates 13 fixed to the inner cable and supporting a window glass 14, and the drive unit 15 driving the inner cable longitudinally. This wind regulator uses no guide member supporting the moving locus of the carrier plate, using the window glass run R of the door D to guide the window glass 14 instead.
